Curriculum and Learning

Picture
As supported by extensive research, we know that children learn the most within the first five years of their lives. Therefore, we strive to create authentic learning experiences that allow our students to explore the basic skills of professional learning in a fun and exciting way!

Curriculum and Learning:
Our day is broken up into several activities and learning experiences.

Daily your child will receive:
-  25-30 minutes of Kindergarten readiness skills
(See our 1st and 2nd semester breakdown below for more information on our Kindergarten readiness classes)
- 25-30 minutes of Bible exploration
- 20 minutes of Indoor Play
- 20 minutes of Outdoor Play or Physical Education

First Semester:
Understanding that this is many children's first exposure to a classroom setting, we like to begin by covering the basics for all. Many of our students already come with the basic understanding of shapes and colors, but because some students do not this is where we begin the school year.
- Fine and Gross motor skill activities
- Identifying and drawing 2 dimensional shapes
- Identifying and creating Primary and Secondary colors
- Identifying and writing numbers 1-10 (3-yr. olds)
- Identifying and writing numbers 1-12 (4-yr. olds)
- Nursery Rhymes and Fairy tales

Second Semester:
- Identifying and writing letters A-Z
- Pattern Building

- Telling Time on the hour (4-yr. olds)
- Word Families (4-yr. olds ***if time allows)

The Power of Play:

We know that children learn best through play and self-discovery. Therefore we create different ways for your child to play everyday. Whether its through dramatic or "make believe" play or through the movement of their bodies.
